During the recent years, the container shipping competition is going intensely, and the cost of container management, especially the running cost is keeping a high level for a long time.Thereunder, this article analyses and expatiates the causes of various kinds of container cost and the factors that affect them systematically, based on the research on every aspect of container management. Simultaneously, the article discusses the main point considering the current status of the container management of the shipping company and the deficiency exists, focused on the appropriate amount of container in each line, the controlment of rented containers, and the storage measure of the spare parts. In conclusion, effective approach has been educed for controlling the container management cost. Additionally, we consulted the exponents to evaluate the result by scientific method.Those exponents could be introduced into the work of container control department, then effect on the controlment of quality and cost, considering different emphases and conditions of each shipping company respectively.
