A Study On The Control Of The Gap Between Rich And Poor In Taiwan And The Inspire To Mainland China

The problem that developing countries and areas are confronted with when they are developing their economy that how to deal with the relationship between growth and assignment. Reform and open policy have been implemented about 30 years, and Mainland's economy has been grown fast, but at the same time, the gap between rich and poor is becoming larger and larger. Taiwan is the treasured island of China. Its income division has kept steady relatively when its economy has obtained a high speed growth. This is worthy of pondering and referring. There is a corresponding inherent relationship between the rich-poor gap and social security. Social security can help the weak and the poor, and achieve social equity. But the widening of rich-poor gap increases poverty and induces social unfair, it brings huge pressure to the reform of social security. The paper will make a detailed statement from the background of Taiwan social development and analyze the present situation of cross-straits economy development. Compares with rich-poor gap problem of cross-straits in the economic transformation time, and pursues Lengthways compare between them. Then, the author expounds the reasons why the income division has been rationalized in Taiwan in four aspects: the development of Taiwan agricultural economy, the strength of small and medium enterprises, the starting of Non-Profit Organization and the implement of Taiwan education policy. With these reasons the author further analyses the social security policy and its contribution to income division in Taiwan. At last, recording to Taiwan's experiences and Mainland's situation, this paper concludes some suggestions for social security reform in Mainland.Taiwan is definitely a part of China in history and reality. The National People's congress (NPC)and National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative (NPPCC)were held in March 2007.The reform in countryside security, education and medical service are urgent .With the experiences from Taiwan ,we can conceive a harmonious society when making our economy keep growing fast. The most important thing is that a steady, fair and harmonious society can make Chinese people become more and more rich, it also can reduce the difference between cross-straits and then achieve the goal of peaceful reunification.
