Insurance has the function of economical compensation, funds accommodation and social management. It is the basic method of venture management under the market economy and the important composing part in financial system and social security system. Sound development of insurance industry will provide many funds to our economical construction. Entirely and deeply in the configuration procedure, insurance industry also will provide the stable factor to our economical running, which is indispensable and cannot be replaced by other economical system.The developing level of our insurance trade is low because of the historical reason and our country's economical development, the depth and density of insurance in our country not only fall behind the developed countries, but also fall behind other developing countries.As the most openning trade in financial trade, insurance trade is entirely opened to foreign-funded enterprise on Dec. 11st, 2004. From then on, Chinese insurance companies face the challenge from foreign insurance companies. This paper starts from Chinese insurance companies which is met by the new threat under the global background, then expand to the central problem, that is, improving our own competitive strength under the global background.The paper use step analysis to describe why Chinese insurance companies lack of central competitive and how can it be improved, which include competive environment, client's needs, competive opponent,self demand aspect, and so on. Then the solution of the central competitive improving is given, which is based on product innovation, market deploitation, enterpise culture, learning organization, risk by entirely controled.Naturally, an innovated and self-improving program model is constructed, that is, develop market as the pulling force, learning as the inner motivation, innovating as the external impetus, risk control as the guarantee, enterprise culture as the nutrient.
