Comparison And Suggestions On Guangzhou, Shenzhen And Hong Kong's Environment Of Service Industry

As the global industrial structure presented a trend of transition from "industry-oriented economy" to "service-oriented economy", service industry has became the primary field in more and more countries' economy and social development program and the develop level of service industry has became an important sign to judge a country's modernization and comprehensive strength. Although there have been significant and impressive advances in Guangzhou and Shenzhen's economic construction since the reform and opening policy, the development level of service industry in both of the cities lagged behind the level they should achieved according to their stage of economic development, and this situation hindered their further economic development. As is universally acknowledged, Hong Kong's service industry is highly-developed, so it is possible for Guangzhou and Shenzhen to draw lessons from Hong Kong's service development to improve local service industry effectively. Considering the service industry has great dependence on the external environment, this dissertation build a index system for service industry's develop environment evaluation, and find out the disparities between Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong by comparing the relevant datum, base on that, some suggestions are made on policy-making.This dissertation is divided into five chapters: chapter one introduces the research content and the purpose, background, focus and significance of this research. Chapter two summarizes the foundation and current status of this research, including the relevant theories on service industry, the characters of service industry, the former studies on Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong's service industry and the analysis of affecting factors of service industry. In chapter three the index system is built and the evaluation method is also introduced. Chapter four compared the environment of service industry in three cities by using the index system built in chapter three and the Guangzhou and Shenzhen's disparities are revealed. In chapter five, countermeasures and suggestions on optimize Guangzhou and Shenzhen's environment of service industry are put forward.
