An Research On Benefit Of City Size In China

Urbanization is one of the most important issues in the world today. It has long been the focus of concern in international academic circles. With the accelerating of the China's urbanization process, question of urbanization and the way for urbanization has come to a live subject. In the long run, China has restricted the sizes of big cities and accelerated the development of medium and small cities and towns. However, In theory,basis of policy is the benefit of urban, while benefit of city size is very important. This paper is aimed to do a research on the agglomerative economy of the cities of diferent sizes in China, expecting to explore the relationship between city size and economic efficiency, and then discusses a suitable way for cities' development.It is found that distribution of city size structure in China fay in with the theory of city order-size of Zip. Industrial structure and the job structure fay in with law of Pei Di Ke La Ke.Urban space structure chiefly show regional disparity of three main regions. It is also found that agglomeration economy exist in all cities and in every order cities in China at present. Which show that In the lump China's cities above prefectural exist scale efficiency. Expanding of city size can drive urban economics in China today. Eastern cities, middle cities and western cities exist agglomerate economy on the whole. Which show that city size in this three regions can rise further.And western cities is also the focus in future development. Potential of the rising in city size is significant.To some extent,Estern city size can expand .Finally,cities that have size of medium and small also need to develop rapidly.
