Since the 1970s, the world began to focus on the development of service industries, especially the modern service industry. In contrast, the service industry in China is seriously lagging behind and lack of competitiveness. And it has been a serious structural problem, which could influence the sustainable development of China's economy in future. As China take part in the WTO, the level of implementation of a series of commitments will deepen more, and the liberalization in services sector is inevitable. Liberalization of trade in services will be the reality that China's service industry must face, and services are faced with unprecedented challenges and pressures. Therefore, how China's service industry adapt to the changes in the world economic situation, how to narrow the gap with developed countries or even catch up with them, how to extricate ourselves from the inherent difficulties and how to enhance the international competitiveness of the service industry has become a topic we have to face and resolve. In this paper, the analysis about international competitiveness of China's service industries mainly concentrates in the data of import and export. Nowadays, since the studies on the international competitiveness of service industry are confined to single economic indicators evaluation and the service does not have a comprehensive system to evaluate the level of international competitiveness. So in view of the above, this paper base on the data of import and export, uses four individual indicators and a total indicator, try to construct an overall evaluation system of international competitiveness of the service sector, and analyze the differences among China, the United States, Japan, Britain and other countries. And, on this basis, from Porter's theory of international competitiveness, analyze the various factors which could influence the international competitiveness of services. At last, in summing up the basic conclusion of the final text, I make some suggestions.
