Especially, under the WTO, the agricultureinsurance is not only the government's valid tool of supporting agriculture, but also theinternational trend of agriculture policy. The problem how to make use of the agricultureinsurance to support and protect agriculture becomes more and more outstanding. Theagriculture development in Guangdong province faces high risk because of many nature disasters.For the modern agriculture development, agriculture insurance is needed urgently.Unfortunately, the development of agriculture insurance in Guangdong province is oppositebackward. And for lack of research and prevention on agriculture risk, there is more possibilityto enlarge the loss in disaster. So it is very significant in theories and practice to study thedevelopment patterns of agriculture insurance.First the article elaborates the basic theories on agriculture insurance and agriculturerisk. Then it analyses the present condition and problems of agriculture insurance in Guangdongprovince. After that it mainly analyses and summaries the evolution of domestic andinternational agriculture insurance. By learning the advanced experience from home and foreigncountries, combing the reality of Guangdong province, the author put forward to an ideal patternof agriculture insurance——setting up a professional agriculture insurance company leaded byprovincial government to conduct the political agriculture insurance. Apart from address thisideal pattern, the author also makes suggestions on reform measures from policy, administrativesystem and other aspects, in order that the ideal pattern will work well.
