The Spillovers Of FDI On Private Industries In Guangdong Province

The spillovers of foreign direct investment is a main subject of its indirect effects,many scholars have studied abundantly on it. But, the studies on developing countriesget different conclusions, besides, scholars rarely study on private industry due to thedifficulty on the process of dealing data.The paper mainly researches on private industry. The creative parts in this thesiscan be summarized as followings.Theoretically, there are three main points which can be summed up here. Firstlythe concepts of FDI technology spillovers and the basic approaches of technologyspillovers and the related factors which influenced technology spillover effects arealso defined. Secondly, some domestic and overseas literatures about technologyspillover effects of FDI, their conclusions and methods are summarized. Thirdly, thedevelopment stages and characters of private industry and FDI in Guangdongprovince are analyzed.Empirically, based on the metric model that constructed from the existing studies,the thesis analyzed the technology spillover effects of FDI in Guangdong's privateindustry and the way of spillover. The study indicates that technology spillover effectsof FDI to industry are very evident, and capital is the main way. According to theabove empirical study, the thesis analyses the causes of FDI technology spillovers inprivate industry of Guangdong, and the study indicates that the competition betweenforeign and domestic enterprises and the associate effect is one of the importantcauses.Finally, on the basis of the above study, some relative policy suggestions are putforward in this thesis.
