Study On Application Of Value Engineering In Engineering Project Management

In chapter one, relevant theory of value engineering is introduced and thehistory, status quo and new development trend of domestic and foreign applicationof value engineering are reviewed.In combination with the key issues existing inbuilding industry under China's market economic system, significance andimminence of application of value engineering in building Industry is broughtforward practically.In chapter two and three, combined with example, this paper discusses theapplication of value engineering in construction engineering project managementsuch as design, invitation for bid, optimization of construction organization anddesign, selection of material and equipment, and demonstrates that valueengineering can bring huge economic and social benefit in constructionengineering project management and recommends some adoptable valueengineering methods in each stage of construction engineering project for thepurpose of extending it maneuverability in construction engineering projectmanagement.In chapter four, combined with example, based on theory of WSR, theapplication of value engineering is discussed in large construction engineeringproject management. Through description of the content and features of WSR incomplicated value engineering system and the introduction of the importanceproportion of WSR in different value engineering systems, in-depth reason forvalue engineer's being given the cold shoulder is analyzed with WSR theory.Based on WSR theory, methods are put forward to improve value engineering,andmake it become an effective weapon in enterprise technical and economicmanagement.
