The Research On The Cultivation Of The Core Competence Of Gansu's Eletronic Information Industry

The electronic information industry of Gansu Province has been growing rapidly in the past few years. The average growth rate reached 8.6%. It is now the pillar industry in Gansu. But compared with other provinces especially the eastern developed provinces, the electronic information industry of Gansu Province is far less developed. Facing the competition from both domestic and foreign competitors, it has been an important topic for us to find out how to improve the core competence, and to obtain the competitive advantage for the electronic information industry of Gansu Province.Based on several scientific theories such as industry economics, government economics, enterprise management, etc, the paper analyses the current state of electronic information industry of Gansu Province, and puts forward the countermeasures of how to cultivate the core competence of electronic information industry of Gansu Province. The paper is divided into four parts: part one is preface, which briefly introduces the background, the aim and the importance of the topic, and the research status at home or oversea, and the innovation of the paper. Part two is about the general theory of core competence of industry. The concepts of the core competence and the core competence of industry, the characteristics and elements of core competence of industry are elaborated. It is the theory base of the whole paper. In part three, the current situation of the core competence of Gansu's electronic information industry was discussed. The concepts, characteristics and category of electronic information industry were explained. Using the theory of SWOT, the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats of Gansu's electronic information industry were analyzed, the reasons of the low core competence of Gansu's electronic information industry was discussed. In part four, five strategies for cultivating the core competence of Gansu's electronic information industry were proposed, i.e. building large scale corporation, speeding up technological innovation, developing HR, building up brand, optimizing industry environment. The proposals are important to promote the development of Gansu's electronic information industry, and for improving the core competence of Gansu's electronic information industry.
