Empirical Study On The Correlation Between Economic Growth And Income Distribution In Beijing City

The relationship between income distribution and economic growth has been one of the problems mostly discussed in economic circles, and one of the contentious issues in economic research. It's very necessary to analyze and discuss the relationship deeply and systematically according to the current economic condition and environment by using scientific thinking and methods. Along with the economic growth in Beijing City, income distribution became one of the main factors affecting economic growth through consumption and investment in national economy. Conversely, economic growth regulated income distribution continuously, too. It's necessary to investigate the trend, the reason, the proper policies and measurements for improvement in margin extension. It's also necessary to investigate the influence of income margin to the economic growth in Beijing City, and vice versa.This dissertation analyzed the income distribution margin, and the developmental trends, characteristics and causes of economic growth in Beijing City in the recent 10 years. The method used here was the combination of time sequence data and section data, the static analysis and dynamic analysis. Gini coefficient and the GDP growth rate were adopted. The relativity between residents'income margin and the economic growth in Beijing City was analyzed with positive research methods. The influence of economic growth on income margin in Beijing City was studied by retrogressive method. It was also studied by the new classic economic growth model. The policies and measurements on alleviating income distribution margin in Beijing City were analyzed in the end.This dissertation is divided into five parts:The first part is introduction. It put forward the research background and the significance. The basic concepts of income distribution, economic growth, income margin and its measurements were defined. The relevant researches around the world were sorted out. The foreign related researches mainly include the income distribution margin trend and related theories on the relationship between citizens'income distribution and economic growth. The domestic related researches mainly include the income distribution condition, the positive research of the relativity between residents'income distribution and the economic growth nationwide, and relevant policy researches. The main contents of this dissertation were put forward.The second part is on economic growth trend and its characteristics .It was analyzed by using GDP growth rate trend, consumption growth trend, investment growth rate and so on. The economic growth rate in Beijing City was higher than national average, and the absolute value was high relatively. The investment rate of Beijing City decreased in the last 10 years, and it was 52% in 2005. The consumption rate increased relatively. But the residents'consumption rate, near 30%, changed a little, and the governments'consumption rate increased sharply. The economic growth of Beijing City mainly resulted from the governments'consumption.The third part is on the present condition and trend of income distribution in Beijing City. It was studied from urban residents'income distribution margin, income margin between urban and rural residents, distribution margin among different trade workers'salaries, residents'income distribution margin in different areas of Beijing City. The income margin between urban and rural residents expanded continuously according to the income distribution allocated by them and the variation of the coefficient of Gini. The urban and rural residents'income and income growth rate were large than national average. The urban residents'income distribution margin, income margin between urban and rural residents, distribution margin among different trade workers'salaries, residents'income distribution margin in different areas of Beijing City all increased, but they were not too big.The fourth part is on relation between income distribution and income distribution. The distribution margin of residents'income and the economic growth in Beijing City was analyzed by the curved simulation method. The F and the T examinations were passed through regression formulation of GDP growth rate and urban residents'income distribution margin, income margin between urban and rural residents, distribution margin among different trade workers'salaries. The linear relations were obvious and they were positive. But regression formulation of GDP growth rate and residents'income distribution margin in different areas did not pass the T and F examinations. The influence of residents'income margin on the economic growth in Beijing City was analyzed by the regression analytic method. The capital influent the economy growth of Beijing City was large, and alternating residents'income margin could help residents change incomes into investment or consumption.The fifth part is the policies and measurements on the coordinated development between income distribution margin and economy growth in Beijing City. The basic conclusion of this dissertation was summed up in the end.
