From the 1980s', following the fast growing of the Chinese economy, the management consulting market in China has got a rapid growth. Management consulting has become a promising industry. The multinational consulting corporations in China have become the first group in this industry. Strategy behavior is an important assurance for the corporations to achieve their strategy goals smoothly. The strategy behavior of the multinational consulting corporations in China has made their competitive advantages been achieved in one way, and has had also will have a great influence upon the competition, market structure, and development direction of consulting in China in another way. Therefore, this paper has made a deep research on the characters about the strategy behaviors of the multinational consulting corporations in China.The paper defines the strategy behavior with a view to kinds of specific action. On the base of theoretical analysis and the macro analysis about the growing of the multinational consulting corporations in China, we selected 7 of them to be the research subjects, using a comparatively standard method of case study, and have done an empirical research on the strategy of the multinational consulting corporations in China. Work scope includes followings.First, through the analysis about the three stages the multi consulting corporations have hade in China, we have the conclusion that the total strategy goals for the three stages are: probe, enter and grow. Then, for the period of "enter", we have studied the entering strategy behavior, "Bandwagon effect" and "locate their branches in coastal open cities" have been concluded as the main characters. Third, for the period of "grow", we have studied five kinds of specific strategy behaviors that can mostly react their competition competitive: strategy behavior for knowledge management, strategy behavior for achieving scale economy, strategy behavior for attracting talents, strategy behavior for making clients and merger & acquisitions. A general character and 6 specific ones have been concluded. Finally, these characteristics have been discussed.
