Although the management consulting industry has only been born for more than 100 years,it played an important role in promoting the development of modern business system.The management consulting industry of China,which is still at a relatively early stage compared with the developed management consulting industry in Europe and America,started in the 1980 s.Because of the industry characteristics,management consultancy industry has always been a synonym for the mystery and high salaries in the eyes of the public.A hit TV series which named "The First Half of My Life" played in the summer of 2017 reinforces this stereotype.But what is the real management consulting industry? What is the current situation of China's management consulting industry? How does Chinese local management consulting company growing up and developing?This paper which uses case studies to try to answer the above questions is based on an in-depth investigation of Guangzhou Zhongda Management Consulting Co.,Ltd.(GZMC).GZMC is a native Chinese management consulting company.After 25 years of hard entrepreneurship and development,GZMC grew from a small consulting room to a local influential industry leader,which is not only caused by its own efforts and innovation,but also influenced by the historical opportunity brought by social's political and economic environment changes.By studying the mechanism behind the entrepreneurship and development of GZMC,we can understand the development context and logic of China's local management consulting industry,or provide inspirations for the development of local management consulting companies.An introduction of the industry background of management consulting,the status of GZMC,the entrepreneurship and development process of GZMC,and the efforts of GZMC to develop the IT consulting business is given in the section Case Body in turns.It is described in an objective manner with line-drawing technique in the section.The case analysis section is mainly developed from five dimensions: entrepreneurial model,customer value,competitive advantage,expansion strategy and IT consulting business development,between which there exists inherence or complementary relationship.Based on the analysis of theoretical tools such as customer value theory,resource bricolage theory and knowledge value chain,this paper designs a "134 Development Strategic Programming" for GZMC.The programming made a strategic plan for the development direction of GZMC from the three levels of corporate culture,internal ecology,and external environment.A "Three-step" Development Strategy Implementation Path of GZMC is also determined under the framework of the "134 Development Strategic Programming".The implementation path achieves the overall strategy of GZMC through specific implementation measures of short-term,medium-term,and long-term.In hopes of providing reference for the future development of GZMC and local management consulting companies,six conclusions are extracted in the last chapter of this paper.
