Credit of international trade is serial credit supplied by commercial banks to importers and exporters. It is based on settlement of international trade and improves the business of commercial banks. So it has become one of the major services offered by most international banks. With the rapid development of China's international trade, credit of international trade has been the important way for banks to attract customers, promote business of settlement, make profits and be more competitive. Meanwhile, with the development of international economy and finance, credit of international trade is getting more and more diverse and complicated. Its potential risks keep rising. Since Chinese commercial banks haven't offer credit of international trade for a long time, it's a problem which should be paid much attention to that how to improve the business of credit of international trade and guard against its risks. This thesis firstly discusses history, characteristics and problems of credit of international trade. Then, it analyses causes, features of risks and puts emphasis on credit and exchange rate risks. The author introduces a new risk management method which controls risks by giving credit lines. Under previous circumstances we should take measures of risk management in open position. The author discusses the risks encountered by the major business of credit of international trade and brings up countermeasures.
