A Study On Chinese Commercial Banks' Strategies To Deal With Challenges In Money Market Fund

This paper mainly studies the impact and challenges brought by the money market fund to the operation and management of the Chinese commercial banks, and analyzes the banks' strategies to deal with such challenges as well as the relevant restriction factors by reference to the experience in the development of the money market fund in foreign countries and based on the current development of the Chinese money market and the fund business. In addition, this paper also analyzes the risks faced by the commercial banks in the involvement of the money market fund business as well as the preventive measures. The final conclusion is as follows: It is necessary and feasible for the commercial bank to be involved in the money market fund business. This will greatly enhance the overall competitiveness of the Chinese commercial banks and facilitate the further growth of the money market or even the entire financial market and is an important step for the further development of the financial system reform in China.This paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter describes the theoretical significance and practical significance of the topics, the overview of relevant domestic and foreign documentation and the features of this paper. The second chapter gives a general description of the money market fund and mainly describes the background, cause and theoretical basis for the development of the money market fund. The third chapter emphasizes the impact of the money market fund on the operation and management of the commercial bank. The fourth and fifth chapters describe some of the commercial banks' strategies to deal with the challenges in the money market fund as stated in the third chapter. The six chapter, from the perspective of the commercial bank, analyzes various risks which may be caused by the involvement in the money market fund business, as well as the preventive measures. Finally, relevant conclusions are drawn.
