While entering the 21st century, the international competition in energy field is becomingfiercer, which leads to heading oil prices. There are many reasons for that: both internationaleconomy and global politics have influence on it. Moreover, the energy strategy of the George W.Bush government is also a key factor.As the largest energy-consuming and import nation, USA has a safe energy situationbecause of its perfect energy strategy. The energy strategy of the George W. Bush governmentbrings about profound influences on both America and the world, and especially holds down thepeaceful rising of China in energy. So it is very important for us to study from the energystrategy of the George W. Bush government and work out effective energy strategy for thepurpose of creating a safe energy situation for the peaceful rising of our country. This papersystematically explores the energy strategy of the George W. Bush government by usingqualitative and quantitative method and analytical method with theory and cases. Firstly, itdiscusses the backgrounds of the energy strategy of the George W. Bush government in nationaland international aspects and its main contents and measures. Secondly, it analyses the energygames between USA,Russia,OPEC,China,Japan and India.Thirdly, this paper explores itscharacter,influences and new trends. The positive impacts mainly are: it focuses on thesettlement to the problems of energy substitution and faster and better transform ofenergy-consumption structure. Its negative influences include: it pricks up the internationalcompetition in the energy field which inevitably results in the high oil prices, it causesturbulence in some areas, it leads to more complicated relationship between large and greatcountries. Surely enough, the implementation will face challenges and resistance from home andabroad.
