The planting industry is a basic industry relating with the national economy and the people's livelihood. Although it possesses the significant industry function, it has the comparative weakness of economy because of the unreasonable ratio between grain and eco-crops. Therefore, in order to realize the double aims of exerting the industry function and enhancing the profit of planting industry, the structure adjustment of planting should be carried into execution. The study evaluated the eco-economic adaptability and development potential of crops production by using the theory of ecology and economics. The evaluation reflected the excellent or inferior eco-economic adaptability and scale adjustment potential of crops production. It hoped to make directional suggestions for regional arrangement of different kinds of crops and planting structure adjustment in any region. There are six chapters in this dissertation. In chapter one, we reviewed the concerned achievements and the latest headway of ecological-economic crop production aspects at home and abroad. Then brought forward the study deficiency, established the purpose, significance as well as the content and technique route of this research. In chapter two, we put forward the concept of the apparent eco-economic adaptability of crop-region. We calculated 6 crops' apparent eco-economic adaptability indexes(AEEA) in 31 regions by using synthesis scale level and relative output level in latest 3 years and scale stability and yield stability in latest 10 years. We compartmentalized the adaptability grades of 6 crops in 31 regions, comparatively analyzed the AEEA of crops in each region. In the end, we got 5 adaptability grade areas of each crop and dominant crops in each region. In chapter three, based on the theory of three critical points in ecology and comparative advantage in economics, we put forward the evaluation of eco-economic adaptability of crop production along with the mind of combining the ecology, economics and social background. For the first time we brought forward the system of indicators which integrated the ecological indicator (yield level), economic indicators (unit profit, cost-profit rate) and social indicators (crop productive safety, market risk and society influence) and numeric methods basing on the influencing factors. We introduced the meanings and numeric methods of social indicators, such as crop productive safety, market risk and society influence, the productive three critical points by using comparative advantage theory and imitating ecological three critical points theory , the methods of single indicator eco-economic adaptability degree and synthesis eco-economic adaptability index(EEA) basing on distance theory. We evaluated 6 crops in 31 regions, got the EEA of each crop in 31 regions and 6 crops in each region. We compartmentalized the 5 adaptability grades of each crop in 31 regions, and dominant crops in each region. Comparing with the apparent eco-economic adaptability, we found that the AEEA and EEA showed extreme relativity. It illuminated that the selected indicators, numeric methods, the productive three critical points parameters and the synthesis evaluation method were able to scientifically and rationally evaluate the EEA of crop-region. The result provided the directional guidance for crops regional arrangement and crops collocation in a region. In chapter four, aiming at the study deficiency, we brought forward the concepts and significance of development potential and productive niche of crop production basing on the theory of fundamental niche and realized niche which be put forward by England ecologist Hutchinson(1957). From the point of occupying remain of ecological resource and market capacity, we introduced the system of indicators and numeric methods of nature resource potential and society economy potential came to 2 kinds and 10 indicators. The nature resource potential included resource capacity potential (land potential, water potential), and environment capacity potential (fertilizer capacity potential, pesticide capacity potential, soil healthy potential). The society economy potential included economic profit potential (land opportunity profit potential, water opportunity profit potential, labor opportunity profit potential) and social need potential(basic safety need capacity potential, market capacity potential). According to the crops scale adjustment principle of excellent profit, big market capacity and ample resource, we endowed weight for indicators of every level using AHP and evaluated the crop productive development potential (DPI). We evaluated 6 crops in 31 regions, got the development potential indexes of each crop in 31 regions and 6 crops in each region. We compartmentalized the 4 potential grades of each crop in 31 regions, and high development potential crops in each region. The result could guide the productive scale change. So the problems which crops should be increased and reduced were solved. In chapter five, basing on the significance of EEA and DPI for crop production, we put forward the principle of structure adjustment of each crop in 31 regions and 6 crops in each region. According as the significance, we endowed weight for them and evaluated the synthesis development ability indexes of each crop in 31 regions and 6 crops in each region. We compartmentalized the 4 synthesis development ability grades of each crop in 31 regions, preferential development crops and preferential curtailment crops in each region. The result could provide the directional suggestion for planting structure adjustment. In chapter six, we made conclusion and discussion of crop production eco-economic adaptbility and development potential, analyzed the significance and function for reality crop production, summarized the innovationa and future research of this study.
