The Current Situation,Analysis And Strategy Of Risk Management For Bank Of China Information Centre IT Security

The highly dependence of Banking industry towards Information Technology makes the safety, reliability and effectiveness of the Bank Information System a direct bearing on the safety of the entire Banking industry, as well as the stability of the Financial sector and society. Information Technologies are facing increasing threats while it is rapidly developed. The vulnerability inherent in the Information System itself and the massive centralisation of the Bank Information System and data in recent years makes the Information Security Risks even bigger and more centralized. Commercial Banks are facing Risks from various aspects, Information Technology Risk is one of them which cannot be overlooked by Chinese Commercial banks. The implementation of Enterprise Total Risk Management is not only in the need of risk self-control by the commercial banks, but also the requirement of current financial regulation.Bank of China Information Centre is the operation centre of Bank of China's information systems and data operation. The Risk Management of Bank of China Information centre is an important part for Bank of China comprehensive risk management. By using relevant risk management theories, standards and methodologies, this paper conducts a comprehensive analysis for the current status of Information Center of Bank of China, reveals it existing problems, and bring up a proposal specifically on the improvement of risk management system for Information Centre of Bank of China. Meanwhile, I conduct a research on the fundamental of risk management, risk assessment. I use comprehensive risk assessment approach to conduct a fix quantity evaluation on Bank of China Information System, and bring up the related control proposal based on risk calculation result, which makes the Bank Information Technology Risk Management more systematic and scientific.
