In December 2001 , China became the formal member of WTO, which declared that Chinese economy would be fully involved in the process of globalization. Strategy management is the most important task for companies under globalization and plays as the guide for entrepreneurial management. How to make strategies according to the change of circumstance is a common problem in face of all Chinese enterprises in different industries.The dissertation chooses A company, a typical old, big, fibre manufacturer as the object of case study. Founded in 1997, A company has entered into a period of healthy recycling after 9 years of development. However, in the process of integration into the global economy, A company can not keep with the requirement of the market in terms of promotion and management. Meanwhile, it does not focus on the promotion of competence. A company is faced with the serious problem of making the correct strategy of effective execution and controlling in the changing market so as to maintain consistent competence.The dissertation, while based on the research on bast fibre manufacturing industry, hopes to find the direction and method for the strategy making of A company so as to help it to improve its competence and meet the requirements of the market. For this reason the dissertation comes up with a method of making strategies for companies based on industrial value chain analysis. The method begins with the identification of the industrial value chain, and uses SWOT to analyze the outer and inner circumstance of the company. It aims to working out a strategy that will enhance the healthy recycling of the company and helping it maintain a consistent advantage of competition.According to the author, A company ought to choose the industrial value chain with high profit, low risk of management, high growth, and considerable barriers of entrance as well as high collaboration level of management, technology and resource. It is also said that the area of high profit exists in the head and end chain of the value instead of in the middle. The dissertation emphasizes that A company has the opportunity and advantage of carrying out the strategy of integration.Both the method and conclusion of the research is helpful for managers to adapt to the changing circumstance, to meet the opportunities and challenges and to identify the target and direction of development. The dissertation contributes to the research of strategy management as well.
