The quality-cost problem mainly studies the interactive and inter-dependent relationships between quality and cost with the objective of the optimization of quality-cost subject to the high product quality. As variant types of the cost spent on the product affect with each other, the study in this thesis mainly focus on the problem of total quality-cost optimization.The data about the quality-cost is the basis for the optimization of quality-cost. The method for statistics and calculation for quality-cost data is firstly proposed in this thesis. Following that, the functional model for enterprise product-cost is constructed based on the regression analysis method, which represents the relationship between quality-cost and the probability of good quality. Based on this, it is possible to forecast and control the quality-cost. After that, the optimization strategy is developed in this thesis based on the result of enterprise quality-cost data calculated by the functional model. The result achieved in this thesis provides (1) the theoretic basis for enterprise to optimize, control and forecast quality-cost, (2) the reference for enterprise managers to evaluate, audit and manage effectiveness of the activity for quality improvement and its direction. This thus helps the company reach the status of best enterprise value and highest economic profit.
