Economic globalization is the most notable feature of the current world economy and is irresistible and irreversible historical trend. This merger wave is an integral part of the trend of history and is general trend of historical development and the main battlefield of the global economy.Since China's opening up to the outside world, China has made profound achievements in attracting foreign investments, which significantly promoted the development of economy. Our country successively promulgated laws and regulations for foreign investment M&A, which made the legal system of foreign investors' M&A more exercisable and perfected, and helped to complete social marketing system, deepen the reform of state-owned enterprises, and improve the level of opening up to the outside world. Foreign investment M&A is sure to be an important way to attract foreign investment. Investigation on foreign investment M&A and promotion of foreign investment purchasing state-owned enterprises can help to expand foreign investment, accelerate reform of state-owned enterprises, and promote development of national economy.On the basis of explaining the concept and foreign mergers and acquisitions and summarizing FDI corporate M&A. this dissertation talks over the basic process, causes and the main mode of foreign investment purchasing state-owned enterprises, in-depth analysis the main issues of foreign investment purchasing state-owned enterprises, and, develops measures from government and business aspects. This dissertation also discusses Mittal purchasing Hualing pipeline. The author hopes that this dissertation can benefit the state-owned enterprises in the merge wave.
