The Research On Development Of China Automotive Parts Indurstry

Firstly this paper analyzed China currently situation of automotive parts industry by caculating the world market share (WMS),import market share(IMS) and Trade competition index( TC) .and comparing with other country in the world , we know that our WMS and IMS are still very low , and the trade competition is now in the disadvantage situation.Followed with the situation analysis, this paper made an in depth analysis on every affection elements of automotive parts industry competition. Our country automotive parts industry has the low labour cost, but has less advantage of labour hour rate for the poor equipment and technology. With less investment on the R&D, the local supplier has no ability of innovation, and has not capability of develop parts with OEMs. As China automotive industry developed rapidly, China has become the third automotive maker in the world. China local OEMs has also developed rapidly, this has provided a very good opportunity for China local supplier .the local supplier can develop with the local OEMs development. Our country has good relative and support industry of automotive parts industry development. eg. Our steel and rubber production are the top one in the world, but we should do more work on the special type steel and rubber for automotive parts industry. for example, Currently our supplier is not big enough, our total turnover of 20 top supplier is less than Bosch's (Germany) in 2005. our local supplier has no capability of system application and can not provide system module, eg .Chassis, steeling and powertrain system module, so they lost the high value parts business. In a word, our automotive parts industry has developed much, but has no strong advantage of industry developmentIn order to improve our automotive parts industry competition, this paper provide a series of proposal or solution based on the elements of affecting automotive parts industry development.
