With the strengthening of economic globalization, the management models and methods of China engineering projects need to link up with international standards progressively. The EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) service for fine chemical projects is just beginning in China, so it is a significant task for all local engineering companies to establish a project scheduling system for such projects, and further, it is a challenge that engineering companies are facing to execute practical and customer-satisfied project scheduling methods.Firstly, this thesis defines the characteristics of fine-chemical EPCM projects, and analyzes the effectiveness, advantages and shortages of current project scheduling theories and methods based on the exiting literatures. Then, the project scheduling techniques for fine chemical EPCM projects are systematically framed, including scheduling a reference plan elastically, analyzing project schedule via the method combining Gantt chart and Project Activity-On-Node network, managing manpower dynamically as principal resource, optimizing project scheduling via the measures of task reallocation and resources balance. And a project scheduling controlling model is built to specify the detail operations. Lastly, these scheduling techniques and controlling model are verified in a practical fine-chemical project via successfully achieving project schedule targets and high customer satisfaction. The results achieved in this thesis will provide theoretical basis for scheduling of fine-chemical EPCM projects, experiences for project managers on building up and implementing dynamic scheduling system, and reference for project scheduling study of other industrial EPCM projects.
