Since the beginning of reform and opening up, China's telecommunication industry has achieved conspicuous progress. In the management system, it have succeeded in separating the functions of the government from enterprises, and injected fresh energy to the development of telecommunications;in the market structure, the exclusive monopoly of China Telecom has been broken,the mechanism of segregated operation and orderly competition has been built between China Mobile, China Telecom, China Netcom, China Unicom, China Tietong and China Satcom, they provide a wide range of communication services; in the management scale, China has become the world's largest telecommunication market. Telecommunication services have been throughout tens of thousands of families,and are closely related to people's daily life. Therefore, the issue of price becomes the focus and receives highly attention. This paper deals with the price management of telecommunication industry.It starts with the basic situation about the reformation of China's telecommunications industry, overviews the current price management of China's telecommunications industry, and takes Zhenjiang for instance, expounds the model of municipal price departments in charge of the price management of telecommunication industry, analyzes the existing problems, explores the causes, provides some suggestions to strengthen the price management by learn from the experience of some representative nations.Through the positive analysis and author's work experience, the paper expatiates on the difficulties of price management, the reasons of the difficulties and the ways to solve the difficulties from surface to inside. The three prime problems can be summarized as follows, unreasonable price levels and some are on the high side, market competition is not up to the standard and low consumption transparency, too centralized management and deficiency at the grassroots level. Furthermore, monopoly, imperfect managerial system, lack of efficient management tools and the weakness of law awareness are the roots of the problems. Therefore, the corresponding countermeasures are suggested, those are, continue to promote the reconstruction of telecommunication industry, further eliminate monopolies and perfect the managerial system, explore the way to manage effectively and strengthen the function of price management, work hard to enhance the awareness of law and encourage the self-regulating of enterprises.
