This comprehensive understanding of the development of TNCS' R&D activities with our universities is very important for Chinese enterprises to strengthen the ability of R&D by learning from the TNCS' experiences. This paper uses the combination methods of theoretical analysis and case analysis. At present, R&D collaboration between TNCS and our universities is being in the fast development. And the cooperation presents the multiplicity and the flexibility. According to the main body of R&D, the activities of R&D cooperation can be roughly differentiated into three modes: the bailment contract mode, the union R&D mode and the joint R&D center mode. In analyzing the R&D collaboration, this paper uses the case analysis method to elaborate the R&D activities between IBM Corporation and our universities.
