Chinese inhabited area and traveling sphere have been totally different from their ancestors lived in the period of Ming and Qing dynasty, the traveling sphere was confined to living area and public activity place had turned around significantly especially the modern times. The city accumulation show great influence on every individual. The tour increasingly swept through every aspect of civilian daily life, and became the civilian entertainment as opposed to a few privileged class's exclusive amusement. From Ming and Qing Dynasty to modern times, tour has changed remarkably as an more important life style, how did it happen? What did it show? What was the relation with time evolvement? The thesis strive to elaborate the fact that the modernity is more and more prominent as a result of the collision between Chinese tradition and west culture, during this period, tourism experienced a process from the home village to the city, from natural world to artificial world, from visiting scenic spots to educating the people of nation. It also shows the historic process which modern China was brought into the modernization and internationalization. During this process, it was promoted not only by the elite participation but also by the national guidance. Meanwhile the city and landscape become the basic features of the travel.Based on the perspective of city development and landscape mold, the thesis have some research in Xiamen—one of the earliest five trading port in China, and explore the development process of tourism which has been a part of social life since ancient times, meanwhile reflecting the social development.
