Research On The Income Disparity Between Urban And Rural Residents Of Hebei Province

Income gap is a necessary phenomenon during the development of developing countries. As one of the biggest agricultural provinces, the problem of income gap is very severe in Hebei province. Since 1978, the total economics of Hebei province has developed rapidly, However, the imbalance development has arosen in urban and rural areas and the gap has cambered the macroeconomic and syntheses competition.By carefully studying on a large amount of research and information, the author adopts the method of combination of theoretical literature and positive analysis, and makes a study on the urban and rural residents of Hebei province roundly and systematically. And the main research methods and conclusions of thesis are as followings:1. The paper concludes the relative theories and research findings of income disparity between the urban and countryside's in the world, including the cause of income gap, measure indices, description of development phases and suggestions on narrowing the gap.2. The paper makes a descriptive statistical analysis on the historic and current case of income disparity between the urban and countryside in Hebei province on two points of view that are timing sequence and space distributing, and describes emphatically the main characters of the disparity and analyzes the reasons since reform and opening up to the world. By comparing the different districts in and over Hebei province, comparing the average level of China, and comparing the level and construction of consumption, it illuminates the severity of this problem.3. Referring to a great deal of data and information, the paper ascertains the factors that affect the income disparity between the urban and countryside of Hebei province by using step-by-step regression method and sets up regression equation to measure the extent. The result suggests that the remarkable factor is the monetary wage growth rate of urban employees in rural enterprises, and the followings are revenue from agriculture tax and plowland-using tax, the ratio of investment in fixed assets of rural areas in that of the whole society, GDP from the first industry in GDP of Hebei province..4. The paper uses grey forecasting method and the model GM(1,1) to forecast the trend of income disparity between the urban and countryside of Hebei province, and the result suggests that the gap will enlarge in the coming years. Then we use grey correlative analysis and find the correlation with farmer's net income per-capita of Hebei province from the highest to the lowest are: income from property and diversion, family net income from the Third Industry, the Second Industry and the First Industry, and income from wage.5. According to the results above, the paper put forward some suggestions to narrow the gap, including making overall plans and taking all factors into consideration to develop city and countryside areas; building up city brings along countryside benign mechanism; accelerating to build modern agriculture, raise agriculture industry competition, boost farmers' income; Enlarging the education input in rural areas, promoting the level of human resource; Enlarging rural infrastructure investment in agricultures and rural areas, reinforcing technology support to agriculture and rural areas.
