Study On The Economic Man And The Economic Growth-Criticize And Rethinking

The Economic Man theory is the core concept and soul of the main stream of western economics, it is also the foundation of the growth paradigm of the traditional economic theory. The main objective of this paper is to criticize and rethink about the Economic Man. Undeniably, the Economic Man Theory and the growth paradigm have effectively played their role in the economic growth in the human society, and have contributed to the huge production capability and the wealth. However, from the middle of the twentieth centre, the traditional economic growth paradigm have resulted in serious problems, like environmental pollution, resource shortage, the expansion gap between rich and poor, which has Endangered the development of human beings and the situation must be changed. In order to maintain a sustainable economic growth, and make the society harmony, keep the human beings developed all around, we must change the concept of the traditional economic growth; reconsider the theory of Economic Man, which has been the basis for traditional economic growth advocated by Marx.
