Along with the conduct of housing reform, the People's living conditions have been improved, but at the same time, Some social issues appeared. It's a rather important thing that how to solve the living problem of Low-and middle-income people and maintain social equity. In recent years, The Chinese government prescribe that the total area of the housing which area is below 90㎡ have to achieve more than 70% of the total development and construction area.Through that means of macroeconomic control ,the real estate market reform.In this paper we discuss the issue of social equity about housing, and first advice to establish residence indicators base on the basic unit of family. In this paper, through study ancient Chinese land system and urban planning history , we found the example of distributing the living space and planning the city based on the unit of family. It's also prove the rationality of our advice. With comparative analysis of the disadvantages of modern residential district planning indicators, and learning from the experience of city planning and real estate system abroad, we discuss the necessity of establishing residence indicators base on the basic unit of family and try to proposal the guide line of distributing the area base on family. We also established mathematical relationships with other related residential planning targets and made it more practical and workable.In the end, focus on the advice of"residence indicators base on the basic unit of family", base on China's basic national conditions and development of real estate market, we give summary comments and recommendations about housing policy and its related systems, and inspire with a view to achieving China's domestic consumption of social equity and sustainable housing industry development.
