Research On Cooperation Partner Selection Of Virtual Logistics Enterprise

Since the 1990s, the logistics industry environment of China has changed enormously. On the one hand, the quick expansion of the logistics market and the continuing stratification of professional division gave birth to a contradiction between the demand for logistics enterprises to get the whole core competence to seize the perishable market opportunity immediately and the limitations for a certain enterprise with only part core competence because of deep professional division, which can not be solved by a single logistics enterprise. On the other hand, the accelerating process of economic globalization and a large number of foreign famous logistics enterprises flowing in after China entering the WTO intensified the competition directly. It becomes a big case for logistics enterprises' decision-makers in China that how to respond the demand of the market quickly and face the foreign competition effectively. Fortunately, the notion of Virtual Logistics Enterprise (VLE) and its prominent advantages make it a better choice to solve the above problems. Under that background, this dissertation will focus on the cooperation partner selection of VLE which is a crucial part for the foundation of VLE, with the hope of guiding the practice of the logistics industry in China on theory.Firstly, the dissertation clarifies the theories of VLE, analyzes the importance and complexities of the cooperation partner selection of VLE and proposals two strategies to lower the difficulties and make it more possible to select suitable cooperation partners, and also, the paper brings in the notion of VLE-Broker to help the VLE core enterprise choose right partners efficiently. Secondly, after aggregating the related theories and analyzing the weaknesses of traditional evaluation indicator system and method for the cooperation partner selection of VLE, the paper constructs an improved model for the cooperation partner selection of VLE which contains the evaluation indicator system of the partner selection of VLE and the method of the evaluation's selection. To test their feasibility, an example with much related data is given for simulation and the result is proven operable. Some conclusions are drawn out and few weaknesses of the paper are pointed out last.
