Domestic tourism is part and parcel of China's tourism, and with the governments paying attention to it, it has been developing rapidly. According to the domestic tourists' behavior, more and more tourists are lured to surburbs for sightseeing, vocation, leisure and entertainment. Surburbs become the hot spot areas of domestic and holiday tourism, and catch attentoin of more and more local government, investors and developers. Take Changsha as an example, this paper firstly made an empirical study of tourists areas in surburbs in Changsha, then analyzed the behavior of potential tourists of suburban tourism, and lastly put forward some countermeasures for opening up the market of the surburban tourism. It is important for the development of China's suburban tourism.Based on integrating the past relevant theories and getting the situation of potential market in Changsha's suburban tourism, this paper finally present survey questionnaire. After having done surveys, this paper did relevant statistical analysis accordingly such as Frequencies, Crosstabs, Multiple Category Method and One-Way ANOVA and so on, and then got the characteristics of potential tourist market of suburban tourism in Changsha city. Meanwhile, the paper made a SWOT analysis of the potential tourist market. Based on marketing position, products, price, place and promotion, this paper put forward some countermeasures for opening up the market of the surburban tourism.
