Research On Internationalization Of The Status Quo And Countermeasures Of China's Telecom Operators

Since the Chinese Government's "going out" strategy been proposed in 1999, China's telecom operators have begun their internationalization attempts. China Mobile's two important oversea acquisitions losses in 2005 & 2006, promoted the going out of Chinese telecom operators to a climax.This paper did a systematic study on internationalization status quo of China's telecom operators, explore the problems with a view to find solutions, and provide some useful information for China's telecom operators' internationalization in the future.This paper is divided into five chapters, of which the third and fourth chapters are the core contents. Chapter I is Introduction, mainly to raise questions, and identify research objectives. Chapter II is the Review of theories on internationalization. In Chapter III, from aspects of the growth space of the domestic telecommunications market, China's telecom operators' advantages in international competitiveness, and the Government's policy-oriented, the author analyzed the necessities for China's telecom operators to take the path of internationalization; Through analysis attempts and efforts they have done on both overseas financing and M&A of the current situation, find out 3 main problems in their internationalization, they're lack of experiences in international operations, face risks bring by information asymmetry, and a lack of financial support. Chapter IV&V, through study on internationalization of some typical foreign telecom operators, learn their experiences, Gived some internationalization responses from prospective of the selection of internationalization path, the target market access, as well as the role of the government and so on. Chapter VI proposed some relevant recommendations for the above 3 main issues.
