Study On The Judgment Matrices' Consistency Of Different Scales

The analytic hierarchy process(AHP) proposed by Saaty, received people's prevalent attentions and a great deal researches of it, it is a sort of better practical decision-making analysis way. Scale and judgment matrix are the core contents of the analytic hierarchy process.After reviewing lots of literatures at home and abroad on AHP, this paper beginning with the basic step of AHP, then specified the study process of scales and judgment matrices. On the base of it, the paper analysis contradictories in judgment matrices, points out that there is not only the comparing error existing in judgment matrices, but also the comparing conflicts, and puts forward the judgment conflicts definitions, it is indicated that consistency checkouts to judgment matrices should contain basic consistency (traditional consistency) checkout and sequence consistency (conflict) checkout, measurement indexes of the basic consistency and sequence consistency are founded, they are judgment error and conflict error, then the algorithms of checking contradictions are proposed. Critical values on two consistency checkouts of several familiar number scales are obtained through computing average error of 1000 matrices simulated. Then these critical values are compared. Finally, from a demonstration, it is proved that the two consistency checkouts are reasonable, the study production is significant to the theory and application of the AHP.
