Web 2.0 is a marketing concept as well as a complicated technical one that has been put forward since 2004, which has influenced the Internet dramatically. With the development of technology and management, top Internet company changes from typical portal like Yahoo and Sina to search engine company like Google and Baidu. The most popular type of Internet company is sure to be SNS website among which there are three famous SNS websites around the World MySpace, Facebook and Bebo. At home Hainei is No.1 of its type.Widget is an application of simple-function, small-size and virus-spread character. Social networking sites always provide users function to maintain and develop friend circle. Widgets provide social networking sites abundant website services which extend the time users spend on the website. Widgets also make SNS sites open its develop platform.This paper does study on the history, definition and character of Widget and how it is applied currently. The paper also makes a research on the user behavior on Widget application through statistic of top 50 Widget from Facebook.com. And then reach a conclusion on possible business model for SNS like word of mouth and ecommerce.The paper mainly focus on abroad websites which is because Widget is more popular outside China and to hope to bring some experience for Chinese social networking websites.
