Research On The Exploitation Of Music Tourism

The tourists'psychological needs and motivation become more and more cultural as the tourism develops and the tourists get more educated. Music, as an important form of art, shows the characteristics, charms and art styles of culture in different times, different countries and different races. With a background of"to thrive tourism with culture"policy, music, when combined with tourism, can generate huge energy and achieve a win-win situation of tourism and music.Some districts of China have had some practice of music tourism. But the research of its theory is still at the beginning. Music tourism is still not defined commonly nor understood clearly by the academics. And the research on its significance and resources don't get enough academic influence. The research on music tourism exploitation theory lacks depth and breadth. This lag of theory to a certain extent has hindered the health and sustainable development of music tourism. Based on the above consideration, the article sets music tourism as a whole and discusses the exploitation theory of it. The author hopes to compensate the lack of research on the theory, direct and standardize the exploitation of music tourism in China and help it develop rationally and orderly, as well as set a platform to preserve Chinese traditional music through the effective development of musical tourism.The thesis is composed by five parts, which are research on the background, basic theory, classification and evaluation of resources, analysis of exploiting models and suggestions. Among them the third chapter (the resources classification and evaluation) and the fourth chapter ( the exploiting models analysis) serve as the focus of the thesis.Referring to definitions of other tourism types the thesis defines the concept of music tourism from the perspective of supply and demand. The related concepts are also identified. Then it analyzes the six characteristics and five major functions of music tourism.The thesis systematically classifies music tourism resources of China based on large amounts of materials. According to the attracting function of tourism resources as well as the music-related feature of music tourism resources, they are divided into musical tourism resources with music as its main attraction, musical tourism resources with person as its main attraction, musical tourism resources with object as its main attraction and musical tourism resources with event as its main attraction. After introducing and analyzing all four sorts of the resources, the thesis gives a wholly evaluation about China's music tourism resources and analyzes its strengths and disadvantages, thus lay a foundation for the exploitation of it.Subsequently, the thesis analyzes the supply conditions, demand conditions and other conditions as well as five major principles of music tourism exploitation. According to a large number of examples and factual matters two exploiting models are proposed from the perspective of supply (products) and demand (market): model based on the content of products and model based on the types of consumers. The exploiting model based on the content of products is divided into museum model, the theme park model and borrowing-in model; Based on a detailed analysis of materials at home and abroad the types of music consumers are summarized as nostalgic music tourists, fan music tourists, pleasure-pursued music tourists and random music tourists, and in accordance with these consumer types music tourism development model is divided into popular music tourism, professional music tourism, further-studying music tourism and nostalgia music tourism.Finally, the thesis puts forward some measures and suggestions for the music tourism development in china.
