Studies On Development Models Of Agricultural Insurance In China

Agricultural insurance is an important way to control the risk in agriculture by utilizing the risk aggregation and scatter mechanism, and it is of great importance to the stabilization and development of the agricultural economy. Our country is a large agricultural country, and is also among the countries with the most agricultural hazards. But the situation of shrinking business and low business benefit in agricultural insurance service, highlight the problem of severe imbalance between supply and demand of our agricultural insurance service. Agricultural operation is almost completely exposed to the threatening of various risks. Consequently, to emphasize on the study of the agricultural insurance problem in our country is of important theoretical and practical significance.This article elaborates the fundamental theory of agricultural insurance, and analysis the situation and the cause of formation of our agricultural insurance service base on the insurance theory and economics. Following that, we summarize the development models of various countries in the world, and discuss several development models which may be suitable for our country based on the exposition of current agricultural insurance development models in our country. At the same time, based on the realties of our country, an appropriate agricultural insurance development model for our country is proposed.
