Research On Operating Mechanism Of Technology Alliance Of The Multinational Companies

Since the 1980s,the status of technological innovation in the global strategy of transnational corporations has been becoming risen, multinational companies has always been difficult to maintain a competitive advantage only rely on their own strength Facing to the new competitive environment, multinational companies have changed from confrontation to cooperation based on the scarcity of innovative resources, started to build technology alliance, to make up for R&D strategic resource gap, to share development costs and reduce innovation risk , to control the global market. However, the success rate of the alliance is not high; the inefficient operation mechanism has become a bottleneck to constrain its rapid development. How to improve the operating efficiency of the alliance to reduce the failure rate of the alliances has become an important issue which transnational corporations face in the development.This paper first reviewed the related theories on multinational company's technology alliance, summed up the domestic and foreign scholars'research results on technical alliance and its operating mechanism, on this base; it defined the concept of the alliance and its operating mechanism. And then, analyze the outside and internal effect factor of multinational companies'technology alliance'operating. This paper mainly focus on relevant mechanisms in the course of the operation of transnational corporations: dynamic mechanism, selection mechanism, risk control mechanisms, learning mechanism, and performance evaluation mechanism, and analyze the organic links between the various mechanisms, provide a proposal from the view of strengthening the role of management control on how to improve the operational mechanism, and improve operational efficiency , then select the successful alliance which Sony and Ericsson formed, summed up the success of its experience, finally, provide the relevant policy proposals against existing problems in the operation of the technology alliance by China's enterprises.
