The development of China's transnational operation enterprises is a gradual process accompanied by China's reform and opening up policy. As a matter of fact, Chinese enterprises have made great strides in the scale and level of overseas operation. However, a favorable industry status is hard to attain for the principal part of China's transnational operation enterprises due to the fact that noticeable gaps and deficiencies still exist, when compared with the transnational enterprises from developed countries. Therefore, to intensify studies on China's transnational enterprises are necessitated in the economic development of our country.At present, research documents on this field are rare. To make up for the defect, drawing inspiration from Porter's competitive advantage theory which is based on the value chain, and taking Huawei as an example, this thesis concentrates on the formation of China's transnational operation enterprises'competitive advantage. It consists of five parts. Part one is proem. During Chapter two, prior to pointing out the problems existing in the China's transnational operation enterprises by comparison, a review is given on the overseas development of these enterprises, and then a detailed analysis of the origin of those problems is followed. Cheaper three focus on establishing the competitive advantage nurturing model of China's transnational operation enterprises with the inspiration from Porter's theory. Also, it takes the ingredient of transnational operation into consideration. Chapter four gives an in-depth analysis of the root of competitive advantage for Huawei, a representative enterprise among China's transnational operation enterprises. Chapter five is the conclusion and suggestion part for this thesis and centers on proposing overall ideas and specific approaches for establishing the competitive advantage of China's transnational operation enterprises.
