A Research On Developing Guangzhou Tourism Basing On Asian Games Economy

The success of biding for 2010 Asian Games will accelerate the economic development of Canton. Since 1984's Los Angeles Olympic Games, all the games brought benefit for the hosting cities, later almost every international games referred to its benefit-oriented principle. The hosting of 16th Asian Games will not only increase the construction of basic establishments, but also bring along the boom of tourism.This paper researches on Guangzhou main tourism industries. It Bases on data, contacts theory with practice, uses statistical and practical research method. this paper analysis current condition, shortage, impact from Asian games and corresponding developing strategy of Guangzhou tourism industries. The paper starts from the background of Asian Games and current situation of Canton tourism, gives thorough analysis of Asian Games effects on Canton's tourism from all aspects. Finally, combining the developing actuality of Canton tourism and Canton's local characteristics, the paper brings up some suggestions about how to react on the impact of Asian Games and decrease "slipping shock" negative impact to guarantee constant development of Canton economy.
