The Research On Geo-economical Cooperation Among YanBian, Russian And The Democratic People's Republic Of Korea

The Geo-economical cooperation of Yanbian, Russia and DPRK belongs to sub-regional cooperation in East Asia. For many years in history, the area of Tumen River had experienced the twists and turns of overheat, super-cooling and small-pace advance. In the 21^st century, with the changes of the political and economical environment in Northeast Asia, economical cooperation in the area of Tumen River again has attracted the attention from the government, scholars and entrepreneurs. Against this background, the present paper investigates the current situation, problems, development direction and regulation and control measures of the geo-economical cooperation among Yanbian, Russia and DPRK, thus searching a new advancing direction for Yanbian in the geo-economical cooperation with Russia and DPRK.The present paper, based on the current research results at home and abroad, probes into the related theories and practical problems in the geo-economical cooperation of Yanbian, Russia and DPRK by means of integrating static with dynamic analyses, macro with micro analyses and qualitative with quantitative analyses.This paper includes five parts as follows besides the introduction and the conclusion. Part One is the theoretical framework. It mainly discusses the related theories used in this paper, including regional economic geography, frontier trade geography, international economic cooperation and geo-economics.Part Two, from the nature, economic and other aspects, analyzes the geo-location conditions across Yanbian, Russian coast border areas and the Rajin-Sonbong Zone in DPRK and investigates the effects on this area of economic globalization, geo-economical integration and the new political and economical environment changes in Northeast Asia. Section Three expounds the features of the current situation of Yanbian geo-economic cooperation with Russia and DPRK from the perspectives of Yanbian, Russia and DPRK and attempts to discuss the existing problems in the geo-economical cooperation. Section Four elaborates on the basic models of the geo-economic cooperation of Yanbian, Russian and DPRK.Section Five discusses the influencing factors to the geo-economic cooperation of Yanbian, Russian and DPRK from the unilateral, bilateral and multilateral perspectives and proposes countermeasures and suggestions.
