Implementation Of High-Value Payment System In International Comprehensive Banking System-ICBS

With the rapid development of the domestic banking industry, the limitations of the existing core banking system have become more and more obvious; so many domestic banks try to introduce into advanced foreign core banking systems. At the same time, the model of domestic banking system has changed from the distributed to the centralized. Therefore, the domestic banks have to face two serious challenges: how to make data centralized and how to reconstruct the foreign banking core system to make it "localized".ICBS is an International Comprehensive Banking System. This system is the basic of research. Based on the researches of the existing bank operations, a kind of new application architecture that is High-Value Payment System (HVPS) of the commercial banks, which should be a part of the core system, is proposed in this paper. This new application architecture can effectively achieve the purpose of centralizing data. Via researches of the ICBS core codes, the development of HVPS has been completed. The research work includes designing and developing of the message format, transaction processing, gateway interface, transaction sequence and so on. The system is not only the verification of the application architecture of the new structure but also the provision of a reference of introducing into other foreign banking systems.At present the system has passed the simulation test, whose resu1t is exce1lent and has achieved the purposes of study and practice. And it establishes a foundation of realizing the data centralized and introducing into a foreign core banking system farther.
