A Study Of The Relationship Of Outsourcing Network And Competitive Ability Of Firms In Zhejiang Province

Network of resource outsourcing has become a hot topic in the sphere of strategic management research in the era of cyber-economy. The existing research on resource outsourcing is traditionally developed from the perspective of the unilateral relationship between single outsourcer and insourcer. In fact, resource outsourcing however is not limited within the scope of the unilateral relationship foresaid but rather a network of resource outsourcing constructed based on the interconnection between a number of outsourcers and insourcers.This dissertation intends to explore the relationship of the resource outsourcing network and the competitive ability of firms. Based on the existing research, this dissertation evolves a couple of structural characteristics affecting outsourcing network core firms, namely density and intensity, and summarises the competition strength of firms into four variables: viability, profitability, innovation ability, and developmental ability. Business controllability, cost controllability, quality controllability and risk controllability as intervening variables are added into in order to make this research more precise.Based on the positive research of a substantial part of the outsourcing network core firms in Zhejiang Province, this dissertation concludes that outsourcing network makes impact to the firms' competitive ability indirectly through four intervening variables. This research is of significance in guiding the improvement of the competitive ability of the outsourcing network core firms in Zhejiang Province.
