Interorganizational interdependence is the root of interorganizational information sharing (IIS), and proper IIS will make interorganizational coordination (IOC) possible. Therefore, IIS is necessary to realize the IOC. However, the level of interdependence might be high or low in different organizations, so the requisite level of coordination for organizational functions and the level of IIS which depend on it might be different accordingly. Therefore, interorganizational interdependencies, IIS and IOC are close to one another, while both the second and third one are based on the cooperation of the members. In this thesis, IOC and the information sharing across organizations are studied, applying the organizational coordination theory and the resource dependency theory, the relationship among interorganizational interdependence, IOC and IIS is analyzed deeply; in addition, based on previous research, this thesis constructs a single supplier multi-buyer model with the expected percentage of inventory reduction and the expected operation cost of buyers as the two dimensions of the value of information sharing, and then presents the numerical simulation result of Matlab. Finally, a case study of Toyota about the information and the coordination mechanisms they used is presented. Our study suggest that: (1) interorganizational interdependence is the prerequisite of IOC, and the requirement of IOC is the necessary condition of IIS, moreover, there is a positive correlation between the level of interorganizational interdependence and IOC, in addition, there is a positive correlation between IOC and the extent of IIS as well; (2) the sharing of the supplier's supplying information can indeed reduce the buyers' inventory level and the operation cost, and the value of information sharing may be different for different buyers; (3) IOC is the ultimate objective of IIS, and appropriate coordination mechanisms are necessary for the acquirement of the value of IIS.Major innovations of this thesis are listed as followed: (1) based on interorganizational interdependence, this thesis sees the level of interorganizational interdependence, the requirement of IOC and the extent of IIS as continuous variables, and then analyzes the internal connection among them; (2) constructs a non compensated shortage model of supplying-demanding system based on a investigating case and then uses the model to make quantitative analysis for the value of supplying information sharing, which has some practical significance; (3) in the model, this thesis creatively classifies the buyers into different levels according to the supplying stability and the percentage of shortage, and then compares the values they've obtained.
