The success of industry management depends on strategic management process. That is to say an industry must be adjusted to general environment such as industry environment , economic environment, political/legal segment, sociocultural segment, and organizational environment. In the resource of view, Beijing Poly Plaza Hotel is investigated. Through the research, the conclusion is obtained that competitive advantages of the Hotel are the elegant arts grade and deep cultural roots, which lead to its famous culture brand. Poly Plaza Hotel also has advantages on hotel services, management and the hotel place position in Beijing. But there are some weaknesses in the Hotel. For example, as a single hotel, it is hard for Poly Plaza Hotel to compete with professional hotel group such as Hilton group. Applications of information technology on operation and management still need to be improved.After we used classical SWOT analysis tool and Porter's five competitive forces onthe investigation of Beijing Poly Plaza Hotel. The Hotel must strive on Marketingdifferentiation, cooperating with international Hotel groups, creating and sustainingcompetitive advantage, enterprise resource planning ,choosing business-level andcorporate-level strategy, internet technology.
