Study On Strategies Of Logistics Industry Development Of Quanzhou In The Competitive Environment

Modern Logistics Industry is a rising service industry which serves as an engine for optimizing economic structure and boosting economy development. It has become a bullish development momentum and one of the pillar industries for some countries and regions and this result in people regard its progress as the symbol of a competitive country, region or city. Quanzhou, one of the three central cities of Fujian province, holds one fourth of Fujian Province total in terms of the size of economy, and takes great part of West Strait Economy. Quanzhou has flourishing produce of livelihood, high export-oriented economy and numerous advantage industries. All these create favorable conditions for developing Quanzhou's logistics industry. Since Quanzhou and Xiamen both locate in Mingnan Delta zone, Quanzhou geographically not far from Xiamen and they have limited economic hinterland, Quanzhou will encounter keen competition with Xiamen on its way of developing logistics industry. In such competitive Environment, in order to develop its economy in a sound and steady way, it's important for Quanzhou to utilize its advantages and choose an own road for logistic industry development.With large numbers of reference and information about the development of regional logistics industry, this paper firstly introduces the experiences and trend of regional logistics industry development in home and abroad, expounds the relation of regional economy and regional logistics. Through analyzing historical rise and fall of Quanzhou Harbor and Xiamen Harbor, this paper elaborates the relation of harbor and economic development at the same time. Then, it expatiates the present situation and the existing problems of Quanzhou and Xiamen's logistic industry developments, and analysis the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats by using SWOT analysis. Finally, utilizes the GM(1,1) to predict the development of the logistics of Quanzhou and Xiamen. Based on the research, this paper defines the strategic objective of Quanzhou's logistic industry development. In the light of the existing main problems, it broaches the strategy for the development of Quanzhou's logistics industry. The strategies include logistic idea changing, position of the government, effect of the harbor, logistic infrastructure construction, logistic enterprises developing, information platform founding, logistic staff recruitment, training, Etc.This paper probes into city logistics industry development strategy in competitive environment, trying to provide some professional suggestions for Quanzhou's modern logistics industry development. It also brings references for similar cities while review logistic industry development.
