Analysis Of Environmental Pollution And Economic Sustainable Growth

With the development of cosmopolitan economy, the living quality of human beings becomes higher and higher. When we enjoy the luxury creature comfort, the zoology is facing the partly imbalance and the environment is becoming deterioration at the same time. The problems of water pollution, air pollution, solid waste pollution, soil and water loss are threatening the normal living of human beings. Meanwhile, it also seriously affects the further economic growth. The sustainable development of human society is facing a severe challenge. Improving our environmental quality is necessary.The paper introduces the concept and characteristics of sustainable development, discussing the relationship between environment and economic development and the strategic choice of sustainable development in China. Economic activity depends on the extractive use of the natural environment, they interplay with each other: On one hand the environment influences production possibilities and welfare, while on the other hand production diminishes the quality of environmental resources, by the use of resources and through pollution.We introduce the general theory of environmental pollution and sustainable development firstly. On the basis of the existing research and the correlated literature, we comprehensively analyze a growth model with the restraints of environmental pollution and sustainable development. This paper presents a model with environment threshold. It also mainly considers the bad affection to utility of environment pollution and the good affection to production function.By introducing the environmental quality into production function and utility function, we systemically analyze the investment in environmental protection to sustainable economic growth. We get the result of under certain conditions (with respect to a setting production function) , there exists a feasible and optimal sustainable balanced growth path on which the economy grows at a constant positive growth rate, the environmental quality improves better, too. Growth in activities of investment in environment protection now compensate for the growing use of natural resources in production. Our conclusion demonstrates that: the ratio of marginal contribution of investment in environmental protection exceeds the critical value or not in the long term will be the key point to the sustainable growth. It analyses how investment affecting the equilibrium growth rate and society welfare. We could bring the economy onto an optimal and sustainable growth trajectory by boosting the financial investment from the government, improving the conscious of environmental protection and sustainable development, promoting the level of human capital.
