Research On Competitive Ability Of Equipment Manufacture Industry Cluster Of Shenyang

The equipment manufacturing industry is a strategic industry of the development of the national economy. It is the fundamental condition of the full development of the social productivity of a nation, as well as the demonstration of the international competition power of a nation. Highly developed equipment manufacturing industry determines the international division of labor status of a nation in the economic globalization. Developed countries such as the USA, Japan and Germany all experienced the procedure in which the development of the equipment manufacturing industry was the prerequisite of the development of the country. Shenyang, located at the northeast of China, was established as the equipment manufacture industry basis which was focus by both"the first five years plan"and"the second year plan"of our country. Promoting the Shenyang equipment manufacturing industry is the key step of speeding up the transformation of the northeastern old industrial base, as well as the key step of realizing"promotion of northeast". Therefore, the research on how to promote the competitive power of the equipment manufacturing industry colony of Shenyang has great theoretical significance and the practical significance on"promotion of northeast".This paper, based on the relevant researches on the equipment manufacturing industry, the industrial colony and the industrial competitive power, presents comprehensive statement of the current situation of the research on the Chinese equipment manufacturing industry, of the domestic and foreign industrial colony, as well as of the industrial competitive power. It mainly conducts the theoretical analysis of promoting the competitive power of industrial colony as well as of the competitive power of industrial colony, and conducts quantitative analysis of the competitive power of industrial colony, which leads to further research on promoting the competitive power of the equipment manufacturing industry colony of Shenyang.This paper bases on Michael Porter's"Diamond Model"and conducts quantitative analysis of the current development of the equipment manufacturing industry of Shenyang with"the method of five factors", which includes (1) the factors of production, (2) the demands of market, (3) the relevant and supporting industries, (4) the competitive peers and (5) the economic location. The qualitative analysis result pointed out that, the equipment manufacturing industry of Shenyang is large but not strong. It has some competitive advantages in domestic competition but this advantage is not significant.This paper employs Revealed Comparative Advantage method (the RCA method) and the Principle Component Analysis method (the PCA method) respectively to complete the quantitative analysis of the colony competitive power of the equipment manufacturing industry of Shenyang. The quantitative analysis result showed that, the general mechanical manufacturing industry, the special equipment manufacturing industry, the transportation equipment manufacturing industry and the electrical mechanical manufacturing industry have the comparable advantage and the competitive advantage in the equipment manufacturing industry of Shenyang. Particularly, the general mechanical manufacturing industry has the most significant advantages in the four industries. All the above four industries can be promoted to the focus of development of the equipment manufacturing industry of Shenyang.Finally, based on the results of the theoretical analysis and empirical analysis and related to the international trend of development of the equipment manufacturing industry, this paper proposed general principle and suggestion of improving the competitive power of the equipment manufacturing industry colony of Shenyang.
