As the first only-child generation born during the initial stage of the reform and opening-up era step into marriage and birth-giving period,our country begins to enter the "new generation" of baby boom,which has been enforced by the babies born during 2007,the Year of Gold Pig,and 2008,the Year of Olympic Games.With the notable improvement of people's life standard,people's purchasing power of Mothers' and Babies' articles is becoming greater.Once the need of Mothers' and Babies' articles is stimulated,there will be an enormous potential market,opening a shop of maternal and babies' articles has become the first choice for many investors in starting a business. However,the findings of investigation show that these seemingly captivating business opportunities are accompanied by a worrying profit state and fierce competitions.It is necessary for us to study the retail modes which will be more convenient and favorable to customers and more profitable to merchants.Common retail modes include grocery retails,professional supermarkets for pregnant women and babies,chain monopolized stores,department store retails,catalogue sales,and network sales,etc.In this article the common retail modes are analyzed and compared,mainly in terms of advantages and disadvantages,profit space,customer satisfaction,applicable condition,and so on. In the end generates a kind of better retail mode-chain monopolized stores + catalogue sales + network sales.
