Research Of RMB Regionalization

In recent years, the RMB has improved its international status, especially the RMB has circulated and been used with a large amount in some countries and regions which surround china. Therefore, the topic of RMB regionalization has aroused extensive attention. In 2007, the United States subprime mortgage crisis broke out and it changed into a financial crisis quickly. The crisis is bringing a great strike to the dollar's international status and the voice of reforming the international monetary system is getting higher and higher. In order to improve the international status of RMB, China should seize the opportunity to gradually realize RMB regionalization. But this is not an easy object to achieve because the East Asian monetary system is actually a dollar standard in a long term. On the basis of previous studies, this article analyzed the necessities and feasibilities of RMB regionalization firstly. Then, by means of learning from the successful experiences of Euro and Dollar regionalization, considering the characteristics of RMB at the same time, the thesis raised many specific strategies and selected a reasonable path for realizing RMB regionalization. The three important roles of Chinese government in the process of RMB regionalization were also indicated in this paper. Finally, the article particularly concerned about the possible risks in the process of RMB regionalization, and put forward the idea of guarding against these risks.
