The proposal of establishing a "major-setting prediction system of National Higher Education" was carried out by Ministry of Education in 2007.Major optimization and adjustment which would be conducive to the employment of university students had become a hot issue of major reform in colleges and universities. At present, the employment rate of college graduates has become an important indicator in measuring the teaching quality and major-setting reasonableness of a school. This study builds a prediction system of employment by employing diverse prediction models, with actual employment data of our university. The system predicts the employment situation of our school from various aspects and achieves the goal of scientific prediction. This study starts with the hierarchical analysis process, which builds a model of major settings and gets the weight of major settings impact by employment;then diverse principles of prediction models are introduced, including regression analysis, gray prediction model, neural network algorithm and combination of models. These algorithms are applied to the employment prediction of our school, and the predictive values carry out a comparative analysis to identify the optimal model, the result achieves an ideal precision; finally,employment-related functions of the prediction system are implemented. At the end of the thesis,we introduce the future work of this study.
